To use webmail go to www.registeredhosting.ca and click on the WebMail button. Log in with your username (email address, lower case) and your password.
Short answer: Unless you have specific reasons to use POP3, use IMAP.
Details: The basic difference between IMAP and POP3 is where the mail is stored. With IMAP mail is stored on the server and can therefore be synchronized between multple devices more easily. It will synchronize mail status (read/unread etc) between devices. It also supports IMAP IDLE, which allows your mail client to be instantly aware of new messages in your inbox.
With POP3 mail is typically downloaded from the server and subsequently deleted. There are options to leave the mail on the server, but in general IMAP does a better job of this. POP3 in some circumstances may be more bandwidth friendly.
It's best to use SSL for incoming mail, and STARTTLS for outgoing. Some (probably outdated) antivirus software has issues with encrypted incoming mail as it may not be able to scan it.
